Ask a Ninja
On of my favorite web shows / video podcasts, Ask a Ninja. Even this this is a standard I am always surprised how many people haven’t seen an episode. My advice, watch one now or he might track you down and kill you!

Pretty creative use of your browsers scroll bar. This was created using moo tools.
FTP and SFTP/SSH connections are a pain because you have to use a client. Its just so much nicer to be able to save locally. The solution is to mount your connection instead of using a client. Webdrive does just this. Available for both OSX and Windows.
FYI: you can do this for free on OSX using macfuse and sshs but I never got it to work reliably (probably because I was doing something wrong).
Whether you call it western swing, gypsy jazz, or hot jazz, Hot Club of Cowtown is one of the best. If you have never checked out this style of music you should now. They even have an open taping policy which means you can stream and download live sets from eTree and archive.org. If you like gypsy jazz you should follow @yuetsu.

One thing I love is great video and I love Bjork’s Wanderlust. The production is amazing. The concept is so unique; fantasy that is awespiring. (That’s right, inspiration combined with awesome. Remember I am a linguistic evolutionist but that is for a different rant). Bjork’s music is always such a journey and I enjoy it more with video.
On a trip to Manhattan I was privileged to see Matthew Barney’s “The Cremaster Cycle” at The Guggenheim with agualadie and bwashbu. Although Matthew Barney’s style and subjects are often “uncomfortable” they are undoubtedly some of the most thought provoking, original , creative and important works of our times. Matthew Barney is Bjork’s partner. I can really see Barney’s influence in the style of Wanderlust and I like it. It would be a lot of fun to see those two work more closely on projects.
There is a more digestible version of this video on youTube but it is low quality. There is also a 3d version that requires 3d glasses. I have not seen that version and will not testify to its strength. Below is a link to a very high quality version of the video. I suggest you watch this version. It takes a long time to load. Pause it, let it load, turn up your speaker, dim your lights… Hit Play! It is great!

On of my favorite sites for fun browsing is UrbanPranksters.com. I was shocked and thrilled to see a Clemson Prank on the front page (it was a week or two ago so it is no longer front page). For those of you who don’t know Clemson was my Alma Mater. Although I would not technically classify this as a prank it is still great and a lot of effort. Plus it is just fun to see Clemson. So without further ado….
I can’t talk about Clemson without talking football. These tidbits recently floated over my desk.
Looking good Clemson!

This is just a short post from me this week. I love the video techniques used in this video. Plus it is a fun and great song. I hope you like it too. If you do enjoy it, you can support this artist by buying the video for $1.99 at iTunes.

We insist that international elections be monitored and approved by the UN. Yet we do not allow the United Nations to monitor our elections. I wonder why? Give these videos a look and there is more commentary at the end.
One to make you laugh
Diebold Accidentally Leaks Results Of 2008 Election Early
And one to make you cry
If you want more there are plenty of other stories such as this Princeton voting machine video. Princeton University demonstrates how our current voting machines can be hacked with a virus that can spread from machine to machine and skew votes and destroy itself at the end covering its trail completely. I have read articles of people completing this hack in less then 60 seconds.
Given the results in our last two elections and the information coming to light, Do you think elections will be fair? Do you have doubts? But most importantly, answer this question. Why do we not address these issues? Why not allow the voting machines to be scrutinized and fixed. Why not let the UN monitor our elections?

Lately I have really been digging street art. I love it for many reasons: Because the artists are obviously not concerned with art for financial gain, I identify with the subjects of most pieces, and I respect the statement street art makes when compared to advertising. We all accept advertising everywhere–outdoor billboards and signs, online ads, TV–you guys know it all. It’s literally in our faces. Yet many are offended by street art and graffiti. It seems to me the only difference between a billboard and an awesome piece of street art is the fact that a corporation made money off of the advertisement. And usually the graffiti is much more credible from an artistic standpoint. Have a look:

Emphasizing that members of The United States Congress have taken an oath to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; … and that I [they] will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I [they] am about to enter: So help me God,"
Noting with with grave concern that President G.W. Bush, although innocent until proven guilty, has caused suspicion of high crimes and misdemeanors enough to warrant an impeachment trial for the following reasons:
While further reminding that Article VI of the U.S. Constitution declares Senate ratified treaties are "the supreme Law of the Land." and citing that:8
Further noting the Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi has publicly declared,
Recognizing that Article II, Section 4 of The Constitution of the United States states "The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.",
Stressing that the language does not allow for the choice or option of impeachment but assigns the duty of impeachment "shall be removed",
maestrojed.com (formally High Five Friday) solemnly declares that is the is duty of the United States House of Representatives to immediately begin the Impeachment Trial of Nancy Pelosi for the crime of violating her oath by purposely blocking the impeachment trial of G.W Bush.
